Caton Suite (301)

301

The charming third-floor Caton Suite features a unique study with daybed when first entering, gold and red fabric squares covering the walls and courtyard views. Continue down five steps to the master bedroom with queen-sized bed. A sloped ceiling, chandelier with crystals, gold faux walls, and fireplace with wood mantle create an intimate retreat. Windows from the bedroom offer city views of Lombard Street. The pink-veined and gray marble bathroom has a deep single whirlpool tub ideal for soaking with shower.

Historic Inspiration

The name of each of the Carrollton Inn’s thirteen rooms and suites was inspired by a facet of the life of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the original owner of the neighboring Carroll Mansion. Mary, the oldest daughter of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, and Richard Caton produced four daughters. The youngest, Emily, much beloved by the family, married John Mac Tavish and assumed the role of household manager for her grandfather. The elder three sisters captivated European society, became known as the “American Graces” and married into English nobility.
