Historic Inspiration
The name of each of the Carrollton Inn’s thirteen rooms and suites was inspired by a facet of the life of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the original owner of the neighboring Carroll Mansion. In 1778, Charles Carroll of Carrollton served in the Continental Congress, on the Board of War through much of the War of Independence, and simultaneously participated in the framing of a Constitution for Maryland. In 1778, he returned to Maryland to participate in the formation of the state government.
