The Scholar’s Room is a spacious second-floor room overlooking the private garden courtyard. Faux painted walls in shades of apricot, brown and rose highlight the apricot marble-mantled fireplace. Tapestry drapes with embroidered apricot flowers on antique gold under drapes surround windows with lovely courtyard views. This room features a four-poster, king-sized canopy bed. The pink-veined marble bathroom boasts a lavish double whirlpool tub, double vanity sink and separate shower.

Historic Inspiration
The name of each of the Carrollton Inn’s thirteen rooms and suites was inspired by a facet of the life of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the original owner of the neighboring Carroll Mansion. In Paris, Charles Carroll of Carrollton studied philosophy and science and completed his degree in civil law. In 1759, he began a five-year study of English law at the Middle Temple in London. At the age of twenty-eight, he returned to his home. Into the radical climate produced by the Stamp Act, walked a highly refined gentleman with all of the education and experience that might be expected of an emissary of the finest courts in Europe.
